Event Photography: Folkies and Rodders
May 8th, 2009This past weekend was a busy one in Tucson. The Downtown scene was enlivened by the 24th Annual Tucson Folk Festival, which featured two days of music, workshops, and food and craft vendors.
The Folk Festival attracts talent from near and far, and here's the really cool part: There's no charge to attend any of the performances. It's a Folk Festival tradition.
My friend Diamond Jim Hewitt came down from Oracle, Arizona, with a couple of his musical neighbors, Scott McMullen and Scott's wife, Cyn-d Turner. They performed at the Acoustic Showcase.

The Folk Festival was a big hit with the avian set...

Tucson's community radio station, KXCI-FM, broadcast the Folk Festival on 1.5-hour delay. The station's engineering crew takes a break during a live performance at the Plaza Stage...

Enough music for you? Nearby 4th Avenue hosted a hot rod show...
